Las Vegas Aces at Golden State Valkyries Prediction & Betting Pick | WNBA Playoffs Football October 7, 2026
Game 1 was ugly from an efficiency standpoint, but I'm expecting a much cleaner offensive showing in Game 2. Las Vegas shot just 33.9% from the floor and still managed 60 points despite getting very little outside of A'ja Wilson. That's not a number I expect this offense to repeat, especially for a team that finished the season ranked second in the WNBA in scoring at 91.5 points per game.
The Aces know they're heading into a must-win situation, and that urgency matters. This isn't a roster that lacks offensive firepower. Wilson remains the focal point, but Las Vegas has too many creators and shooters to stay quiet for a second straight game. Historically, elite postseason teams respond after poor shooting performances, and this feels like a spot where the Aces come out far more aggressive.
Golden State deserves credit for the defensive effort in Game 1, but it's worth noting they didn't exactly light up the scoreboard themselves. The Valkyries won because they dominated the glass, generated extra possessions, and forced Las Vegas into uncomfortable offensive sequences. Replicating that exact formula two games in a row is easier said than done.
That's one reason I like the game total. Playoff adjustments typically create cleaner offensive looks in Game 2 after teams identify what worked and what didn't. Las Vegas needs to push tempo more often, while Golden State has shown all season they're capable of scoring enough to contribute to a higher total when games become more competitive.
My favorite player prop on the board is Jackie Young. The Game 1 box score will scare some people off, but that's exactly what creates value. She has been one of the league's most dependable two-way guards all year, clearing this line in 32 of her 48 games while consistently handling major offensive responsibilities.
Even against an elite Golden State defense, Young has found ways to produce. In her previous four meetings with the Valkyries, she posted combined points and assists totals of 32, 32, 26, and 16. The matchup is difficult, but we've already seen that her role and minutes are strong enough to overcome it.
Road splits also support the play. Away from home, Young has averaged 26.7 points plus assists while logging more than 33 minutes per game. The volume remains elite, the usage remains stable, and the ball will be in her hands constantly with Las Vegas fighting to avoid a deeper playoff hole.
What really stands out is her recent form. Over her last 12 games, she's cleared this line 10 times while averaging nearly 28 points and assists combined. The only misses came in a game where she still handed out 11 assists and in Game 1 against this same opponent. I'm willing to bet on the larger sample over a single off night.
On the other side, Gabby Williams continues to be one of the toughest players in the league to game-plan against. She stuffed the stat sheet in the opener with 25 points, 11 rebounds, and 5 assists, showing exactly how involved she is in every phase of Golden State's offense. Her confidence is high, and her workload is impossible to ignore.
The Aces are likely to make defensive adjustments toward slowing Williams down, but that's easier said than done. She's attacking in transition, creating off the dribble, crashing the glass, and operating as a playmaker. When a player is touching the ball this often, volume alone creates a strong path toward 19+ points.
At the end of the day, I expect a more competitive and higher-scoring game than we saw in the series opener. Las Vegas should shoot better, Jackie Young is set up for a bounce-back performance, and Gabby Williams continues to be one of the focal points of the Valkyries offense. That's where I'm putting my money for Game 2.
