Jayson Tatum's scoring will always draw attention, but his playmaking role is becoming just as important in Boston's new-look offense. With Jaylen Brown gone and Paul George commanding defensive attention, more of the Celtics' offense is running directly through Tatum, and the opener was a perfect example as he piled up 11 assists on 17 potential assists despite struggling with his own shot. The volume is what stands out. He's cleared this number in seven of his last ten games and continues to see heavy minutes whenever the games are competitive. Against a Knicks team that will force Boston's starters to play extended minutes, Tatum should once again have the ball in his hands all night with plenty of opportunities to create for teammates.
