Toledo Rockets Outlook
The Rockets are coming off a 14-13 road loss to Western Michigan in which their offense simply couldnโt find rhythm. Quarterback Tucker Gleason struggled, completing just 15-of-30 passes for 89 yards with two costly interceptions. Despite the passing woes, DeaMonte Trayanum provided a spark on the ground, rushing for 153 yards and a touchdown on 26 carries. Toledo will need more balance if it wants to cover a large spread against Akron.
The defense did its job, holding the Broncos to just 14 points, but the lack of finishing drives doomed Toledo. Back at home, the Rockets will look to impose their will early and set the tone before halftime.
Akron Zips Outlook
The Zips enter this game on the back of a 51-7 rout of FCS opponent Duquesne. Quarterback Ben Finley had a solid outing, throwing for 219 yards and two touchdowns, though he also tossed an interception. The star of the game was running back Jordan Gant, who exploded for 161 yards and three touchdowns on just 13 carries.
While Akron looked impressive, the level of competition was nowhere near what theyโll face in Toledo. Against stronger FBS opponents this season, the Zips have struggled to sustain drives and keep games competitive, something that will be tested heavily in this conference matchup.

Toledoโs Defense: Strong against the run, forcing Akron to throw more than it would like.
Akronโs Offense: Gant is a capable back, but itโs unlikely heโll repeat his FCS dominance against a much tougher Rockets front.
