Philadelphia Eagles at Jacksonville Jaguars Prediction & Betting Pick | NFL October 11, 2026

The Jaguars have quietly become one of the most complete teams in football through four weeks, and this matchup sets up extremely well for them. They're not just winning games, they're winning the situations that matter most. Jacksonville enters Week 5 averaging 26 points per game, converting over 51% of its third downs, finishing drives at an elite rate inside the red zone, and carrying a league-best +6 turnover differential.

When I handicap games in October, I start with efficiency rather than raw yardage. Jacksonville checks every box. They're protecting the football, creating extra possessions defensively, and consistently putting opponents in unfavorable field-position battles. That's a dangerous combination against a Philadelphia offense already struggling to find rhythm.

The Eagles come into this game averaging just 18.8 points per contest and fewer than 270 total yards per game. Even more concerning, they're expected to be without several of their most important offensive playmakers, putting even more pressure on Jalen Hurts to carry the offense.

Without Saquon Barkley and DeVonta Smith available, Philadelphia loses a massive chunk of its weekly production. Those absences aren't easy to replace, especially against a Jacksonville defense that's allowing only 13.3 points per game and has already shut down multiple offenses this season.

The Jaguars have been dominant against the run as well. Opponents are averaging only 74.3 rushing yards per game against them, forcing teams into uncomfortable passing situations. That's exactly where Jacksonville wants this game played.

On the offensive side, Trevor Lawrence continues to operate efficiently. The numbers may not always look explosive, but the Jaguars consistently stay ahead of schedule and avoid mistakes. Lawrence has command of an offense that averages more than eight yards per pass attempt and continues to capitalize on favorable field position.

One player who stands out this week is Bhayshul Tuten. His role has steadily expanded, and Jacksonville has shown increasing confidence in giving him meaningful touches. Last week he handled 17 carries against Cincinnati and turned them into 73 rushing yards while helping control the flow of the game.

Game script is a major reason I like his rushing number. If Jacksonville plays with a lead as expected, Tuten should see another healthy workload in the second half. Those extra carries add up quickly when a team is trying to shorten the game and protect an advantage.

Philadelphia's defense hasn't been terrible, but it hasn't generated enough disruptive plays. They've forced very few turnovers and have allowed opponents to establish balance offensively. Against a Jaguars team that rarely beats itself, that becomes a difficult formula to overcome.

Another factor working in Jacksonville's favor is their ability to win on third down. Sustained drives wear down defenses, create rushing volume late in games, and keep opposing offenses on the sideline. That's exactly the environment that benefits a Tuten rushing over.

When I put it all together, I see Jacksonville controlling the game through efficiency, field position, and ball security. The Eagles enter shorthanded offensively, while the Jaguars continue to excel in the areas that often determine NFL outcomes. If Jacksonville gets out in front, Tuten should have every opportunity to clear this number.
